The guy never had to be a vocal leader. All he had to do was lead through play. There were moments of that when the year they missed the playoffs. In year 2 after the team got obliterated by the 49ers the team lacked confidence entirely stemming from both canada and him. The tape showed itself and resulted in the commonly pointed out stat of 13td and 13int. Saldy DJ and Pickens did not help him at all when it counted. Every time the team looked good somehow the ball was never caught and when they looked bad the routine plays were never made. Sad to see as a fan. I had plenty of hope in the guy due to him being clutch at the end of games. I think what it boiled down to was the self inflicted injuries. And when you go back an watch the final drive against the cardinals where he got hurt. Calvin Austin was wide open but dude chose to run from 10 yards out. That's pretty hard to look at and say thats our guy when he chose to play hero ball instead of doing his reads. I hope the best for him but it wasn't meant to be.
